Dr. Patrick Lillard is certified by the American
Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and by the American Board of Neurological
Surgery.
The first 20 years of his medical career were devoted to neurology and
neurosurgery. Then, he retrained in Psychiatry with a specialty Fellowship in
Addiction Psychiatry, afterall it is all about the brain. He sees children,
adolescents and adults and believes we can prevent illness lingering on into
adulthood if we treat children early. Also, treatment of mental health problems
always involves team work with psychotherapy or counseling being absolutely
essential, and medication is important but secondary. Dr. Lillard's special
interests are in neuropsychiatry including traumatic brain injury and
developmental disabilities. He has strong interest and experience with Autistic
spectrum disorders, Bipolar spectrum disorders and all aspects of addiction
psychiatry.
